WHY TO SEPARATE?
DO YOU KNOW??

 

  • 1 tone of waste paper preserves 17 trees
  • if 1 million glasses are returned to the glass works , we save up to 300 tones of quartz sand, 1000 tones of (bleaching )soda, 60 tones of fuel oil, 0,76 million cubic metres of natural gas, and a lot of electricity
  • the primary raw material to produce plastics is oil
  • we make garments from recycled PET(plastic bottles)
  • if we recycle waste aluminium,  we save up 95% of energy compared with the production from primary raw material
  • if we recycle 1 kilo of scrap-iron , we save up 2 kilos of coal, 4 kilos of Fe- ores, and 20 seconds of work.
 KOSIT a.s. started with separated waste collection in Kosice in 2002. We gradually establish optimal conditions to ensure higly functional and efficient separated waste collection
  • the number of containers is being increased
  • modern technologies for waste collection are being introduced
  • new assorting systems are being built

Nevertheless, the main factor in separated waste collection prosperity is your interest and active approach.

WHAT CAN YOU DO? HOW CAN YOU HELP?

 

  • do participate in separated waste collection
  • do not throw other municipal waste into the containers for separated waste collection
  • packages such as bottles, glass or plastic, cans, tins, or those made of paper should be without scraps 
  • try to minimalise the volume of the waste ( press the plastic bottles, paper milk boxes, for example)
