The city of Košice in cooperation with the relevant municipal district is responsible for determining the number and location of containers in the city. KOSIT is responsible for the placement of the containers in accordance with the city's instructions.

If the container is damaged, please notify KOSIT via the green line or by email to kosit@kosit.sk. The theft of the collection container must first be reported to the police and the incident must be reported to our company with confirmation from the police.

The waste from the black containers in front of the apartment buildings is collected 3 times a week. Mixed municipal waste is collected from family houses 1 x per week.

The fencing of container sites with so-called "cages" is decided exclusively by the municipal district, which also carries out their construction.

Places for the placement of VKKs, which are deployed according to the cleaning schedule developed by the City of Košice, are specified by the respective municipal district.

It may happen that containers are not emptied on time due to an "obstruction". This obstacle is most often an improperly parked vehicle blocking access to the collection containers or blocking the collection vehicle from entering the street. When such an obstacle is detected, the driver reports this condition to the municipal police, the dispatcher and also to the responsible employee of the City of Košice.

It is against the law to deposit waste outside the designated collection container, with the exception of Christmas trees (bio-waste), which are collected annually by a separate collection after Christmas. Residents can also deposit the tree in the enclosure for Christmas tree collection or bring it to one of the collection yards in the territory of the city of Košice.
