The company was founded in 2001. It is a technologically innovative company that provides comprehensive waste management services at a professional level to the municipal sector, industry, commerce, as well as individual customers. It is one of the most important players in Slovakia dealing with this demanding and socially sensitive industry.

Waste to Energy Plant (WtE)

Today, WtE is one of the most modern, efficient and environmentally friendly ways of waste management. There are two such plants in Slovakia, in Bratislava and Košice.

The waste-to-energy plant in Košice, operated by KOSIT a.s., was put into operation in 1991. It has two grate boilers. The K1 boiler, with a potential maximum output of 20,9 MWt, supplies heat to approximately 4 000 dwellings. Boiler K2 is used to generate and supply electricity for own consumption and to the public grid. Its output is 24 MWt and the energy produced can cover the needs of approximately 20 000 households. The maximum capacity of the plant is 150 000 tonnes of waste per year.
