Act No. 79/2015 Coll. 81(7)(b) obliges all municipalities to ensure the separate collection of e-waste. This service is free of charge for the municipality.
Positive impacts of collection and sorting:
The volume of sorted e-waste enters positively into the calculation of the sorting rate in the municipality = increases the sorting rate.
E-waste that ends up in nature or in landfill is a source of hazardous substances.
Organised collection by the municipality eliminates the creation of illegal landfills and thus the costs of their removal.
Recycling ensures the recovery of secondary raw materials that can be used to produce other products.
