What do we sort and how?
In residential areas we sort plastics together with metal packaging and beverage cartons, paper and glass. Colourful 1,100 litre containers are available. For detached houses, a bag collection system is in place for the same commodities.
What is done with the sorted waste?
The sorted waste is sorted at the sorting line, then pressed into symmetrical blocks and transported to the recyclers.
Under what conditions can the contents of a coloured container be emptied into a vehicle collecting mixed municipal waste from black containers?
Such an undesirable scenario may occur if the contents of the separate waste collection container are heavily contaminated with other mixed waste.
